Saturday Morning…..
I’m living in a cabin on top of a mountain with three guys. Never thought this would be part of my story. Most people do this when they’re young and just out of school. I decided to retire, go back to school and then go on an adventure!
This is my view.
I already saw a badger looking through our glass door and have already had instructions about the do’s and don’ts with snakes (stay 3 ft away from rattlers and run from bull snakes cuz they’ll chase you…..but they both look the same).
Everyone say’s it will get close to 40C but it’s a dry heat so it’s not so bad. That still sound frick’n hot to me….I’m missing my pool already. Maybe I buy a little pump up one. I can already see myself sitting in the pool with a glass of wine and my crazy view……oh right, I’m here to work:( Barclay, the winemaker says he’ll try to give us one day off a week so not much time to play in that pool!
Steve is driving from Calgary to Oliver today to bring me a car. I’ll need that car cuz the closest place to me is Checkmate Winery, but considering they are the only winery in Canada to score 100 points for their Chardonnay, I don’t see that as a problem.
I start to work at Road 13 on Monday for the 2022 harvest so I have 2 days to re-energize and then the fun begins. I went hiking today to Checkmate and then Road 13….saw some wild animals….ok, a family of deer but they are wild and much cuter than bears.
And so my adventure begins.
